Communication Skills & Assertiveness

Two workshops back to back:

Communication Skills – Communicating effectively with professionals that provide services to your child is key to obtaining and maintaining services. Workshop participants will learn the three components of communication, verbal, nonverbal and paraverbal, in order to communicate more effectively with others. We will also explore how to effectively receive messages from others and discuss the barriers to effective communication.

Assertiveness – This workshop is designed to teach parents to communicate opinions, thoughts, needs and feelings in a direct, honest, and appropriate manner, in order to secure a free appropriate public education for their children.

Childcare is provided but must RSVP to Debbie Grace 972-490-9055 x 1409 debbie.grace@thewarrencenter.org no later than the Wednesday prior to the workshop, so that they can plan to have enough childcare providers.
