**Private Event** ARD Process with Christy Balraj

This workshop will provide an overview of the ARD process so that parents will be prepared to participate at every stage of the process. Participants will gain an understanding of the ARD meeting agenda, as well as their procedural rights and responsibilities., Section 504- This workshop will provide an overview of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Participants will learn that schools have an obligation to prevent discrimination based on disability, to provide equal opportunity to all students, and to provide FAPE (Free Appropriate Public Education) to each qualified student with a disability. The definition of disability will be explained and the identification process for the 504 Plan will be explored., Top 10 Basics of Special Education- This workshop will provide participants with an easy to follow roadmap of the Special Education process. We will discuss some acronyms, their definitions and why we use them. A basic overview of the Special Education process from “identification” through “re-evaluation” will be discussed.
