**Private Event** Positive Behavior Interventions & Creative Parenting with Michele Lammers
The Positive Behavior Interventions module will help families understand the reason for behavioral assessments and positive interventions with a focus on behaviors that serve a specific purpose for a student. We will discuss using positive consequences versus punishment to change behavior, as well as what IDEA 2004 says concerning positive behavior interventions.
The Creative Parenting Learning Lab will highlight some of the unique challenges that go into parenting a child with a disability and guide parents to consider some “creative parenting” techniques. We will provide an opportunity for parents to consider their unique situation, then share and hear creative ideas from other parents.
